Mama Roux in Glyfada !

So yesterday late afternoon I went to Glyfada while my hubby, Ioannis and my little one were out to have a coffee. What a good surprise to see that Mama Roux, located in the center, opened a restaurant in Glyfada ! Finally a place to have brunch in the south of Athens ! We went this morning and oh my god the pancakes are amazing ! We will go back on a Sunday - only day you can have brunch - to try the eggs benedicts and other good stuff !!!!!!!!!!!

Ce week end a ete charge ! ou la vie tranquilou de Cecile, Kiko et Djodjo !

Vendredi soir, petit verre (ou plutot grand !) avec mon cheri a Glyfada, samedi soir soiree a la maison pour regarder Philadelphia (pas vu depuis sa sortie ... decue decue), dimanche dejeuner a la maison avec mes beaux parents et la tante maria et son mec ( j'avais fait mon agneau de 8 heures, miam miam ) et lundi soir direction le theatre du Piree avec Dimitris et Natasha pour voir le lac des cygnes ( genial ! )  et ensuite manger au bord de l'eau.

Halloween !

Same FUN every year ,,, we gather up - this time was at our place - we eat Halloweeny food, we drink Halloweeny drinks and we watch horror movies !!!

C'est passe tres vite et je n'ai pas eu beaucoup le temps de profiter d'eux , mais ils ont eu le temps de profiter de notre petit !!

Il faut revenir quand je n'aurais pas autant de trucs a faire !

Cecile's Cakes and Cupcakes

Cecile's Cakes and Cupcakes started !!!

Well, I am actually waiting for the state stamp on my papers for the company to be official but I started this Saturday as a gift for Vlassis' baptism :-)

I was so bored to not finding a job, stay at home and do nothing - when I mean nothing I actually don't mean nothing because being a mum at home makes your life full of plenty of things  : smelly diapers, big baby smiles, wet laundry, dirty dishes ... , I mean nothing as a job for me.

So, after years of people telling me that I should sell my own cakes and cupcakes, I decided to give it a go ! I simply bake on order for bespoke cakes - mostly american/english style - and cupcakes with a twist of something French :-)   Maybe one day I will open a shop ... and then plenty of shops all over the world !  :-)
 
Hopefully I will make soon a website but at the moment I will put the pictures and comments on my blog !!

So I made 24 chocolate cupcakes : 10 frosted with ermine vanilla buttercream and 14 (+8 small ones) frosted with american vanilla/chocolate buttercream.
I made 24 almond cupcakes stuffed with apricot jam and topped with white/blue sugar paste.
and a million sugar cookies, plain or topped with sugar paste.
I also made the presentation :-)

What do you think ?

Pride and Prejudice

So on Sunday, we watched again ( and again, and again ) Pride and Prejudice, the mini series with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle ( not the movie with Keira what's her face who does not know how to act !) Anyway, it's rare to see a book adaptation as good as or even better than the book itself ! Well here it's the case ! So do watch it (but in English please ! you cannot replace the depth of the Victorian English language and the actors' talent - especially Colin Firth's - in another language ). Their love story is by far the best love story that exists ! So get ready for 5 hours and 20 minutes of pure awesomeness !
